More Fun with Mosaics
This is the second mosaic that was auctioned off in 2008 at the OSBA conference. I will look and see what they each raised later.
I loved this one! The funky old translucent amber glass with that distinctive 70s texture (usually seen in front door sidelights) made a wonderful honey-in-the-comb tile. Especially once it was backed with reflective foil.
And the pollen cells around the edges were so pretty and realistic. Some of our local grasses do produce a light blue pollen, sometimes even a pale lavender. With the usual variety of tan, cream, yellows, and oranges, depending on the source.
Also, the geometry of it was super fun to cut!
